Although “how to ignore a guy you like” is not a question, if it were my short answer would be “why would you want to do that”, and my long answer would be, “very carefully” if you feel you must do it at all. I would further the discussion by saying I think you’re confusing the word ignore with the word indifference. It is possible to pay attention without paying too much attention”. Confusing I know but let me elaborate.

Let’s say you work in an office or go to school with the guy you want to (but don’t really want to) “ignore” and he makes deliberate eye contact to let you know he’s interested. You will need to return that eye contact but you’ll want to maintain it just long enough to keep him guessing about your interest in him. When you do that it will psychologically set him back on his heels just enough to question the validity of your interest and make him continue to “pursue” you for at least a little bit longer.

However, if you continue to show indifference, eventually you’ll get the same thing back so you gotta know when to wise up, grow up, and give in to the smarter you. Does that make sense? Ignoring a guy you like is akin to walking a tightrope – It is something you must do cautiously. You don’t want to appear overtly anxious and needy because that smells of desperation but you don’t want appear unapproachable either because that reeks of becoming a dateless dog, and you’ll end up spending all your nights alone.Just as success breeds success, complication breeds complication and life is hard enough as it is don’t ya think?

My suggestion to you is don’t ignore any man unless you truly don’t want his attention and then just do it passively or the whole thing could backfire (oddly enough he might see it as a serious challenge) and you could end up being stalked.

I guess what I’m really trying to say is if a guy is showing interest in you and you like what you see, then show some interest back but don’t overdo it. Keep it at about the same level as he is and you’ll be approaching things on your terms because you are after all a woman, and when all is said and done you have all the power in the world…Please don’t abuse it!
