About
Hello from loveonthewire.com!
This site is owned and operated by me, John Martin. I got the idea for a dating related website a couple of years ago, after noticing the aprehension a female friend of my had when discussing how her and her boyfriend (now husband) met.
The fact of the mater is, her male counterpart had no problem telling others that they met “online”, and yet she was quite guarded about the whole thing, and wouldn’t disclose how it all happend unless pressed to do so.
Why, I asked? Well, even though she wouldn’t come right out and say it, it was obvious to me that in some strange way she seemed ashamed of how they met, and I just couldn’t figure this out. She seemed to think that online dating isn’t as noble as “traditional” courship, and it took some doing to get her to see the light.
I pointed out to her that as long as their relationship is a good one (and it is) then the only thing that matters is that they did meet, not how they met. I (think) I got her to realize that not only did they go through all the dating rituals that people who meet off-line go through, they also had the experience (and excitement) of a “courtship before the courship”, completely online.
Well, even though it’s too late to make a long story short, over the past two years I’ve noticed that online dating is considered (mostly by females) to be a “dirty little secret” and it shouldn’t be. Life is too short, and good relationships too few to worry about what other people might have to say about how you met your signifigant other.
…And so this site was born. It started out as a single page commentary and just sort of grew from that into what you see today. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of some of the big corporate sites, but then again it doesn’t have that kind of a budget either.
If you have a relationship success that is in some small way related to my website I would love to hear from you. Testimonials from people like you, are the best way to convince others that “life online” is good as long as you’re looking in the right place.
To your online relationship happiness…
John
P.S. Just in case you were wondering and you’re female – no I am not in a relationship but you should probably refer to the picture below, and then set your sights considerably higher….Just sayin.
